NASSAU, Bahamas (July 25 th ) – The IL Cares Foundation, is excited to announce the winners of the 2018 OWN Bahamas Entrepreneurship Program.

OWN Bahamas Entrepreneurship Program

On March 27th, OWN Bahamas opened applications to Bahamians for its 4th annual entrepreneurship competition. This competition offers Bahamians an opportunity to submit their business ideas within new or existing industries. Once the winners are selected, the entrepreneurship program provides recipients with financial support, mentorship, and the necessary business knowledge that will enable them to manage a successful business.

IL Cares Foundation pledges continued support for Sports

Senior officials of the IL Cares Foundation said this week that supporting events like the High School Basketball Nationals and the upcoming soccer high school nationals is what the foundation is all about, as they pledged the foundations continued support for local sports.

The IL Cares foundation recently made a $20,000 donation to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to assist with both nationals.

IL Cares Foundation looking to change local sports landscape

A local foundation has been working feverishly to change the landscape of local youth sports.

According to Island Luck (IL) Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Dirk Simmons, the company’s recent support of local sporting events has been part of its mission to provide the nation’s youth, particularly athletes, with as much opportunities for exposure as possible.

“At IL Cares, we truly believe the youth are the future,” Simmons said, pointing out that Island Luck, through the foundation, has sponsored several local sporting events up to this point and has a lot more in the pipeline for this year.

OWN Bahamas announces 2017 grant winners

June 15, 2017

OWN Bahamas announced its 2017 grant winners yesterday, revealing that an arts school and asphalt maintenance company have received the coveted $15,000 in funding for their fledgling companies.

Both Little Prodigies Music and Arts School and Asphalt Maintenance Paving and Testing Company were existing entities when they applied to OWN Bahamas’ Entrepreneurship Program.
